A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines

AFLOOD WATCH, IS IN EFFECT FOR ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES FROM 6-0

P.M. ON TUESDAY 29t JULY, 2020 UNTIL 12:00 NOON ON WEDNESDAY 291TH JULY 2020.


A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 6:00 p.m. today Tuesday 28

July, 2020 until 12:00 noon on Wednesday 29th July 2020. A Hlood-Watch is issued when conditions

are favourable and there exists the possibility of flooding duing the watch period.


This flood watch may be upgraded to a waming if conditions warant. According to information received trom the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services winds of approximately 16 to 28 mp/h (25 to 45km h), with higher gusts and pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and thunderstom activity: rainfall accumulations of>mm (approximately 3 inches) are possible through Wednesday with isolated higher amounts in mountainous areas.


These conditions are expected as a result of instability associated with an area of disturbed weather near 14.4°N, 55.9°W or approxim ately 360 miles east north east of St Vincent & the Grenadines, although the centre of this disturbance is forecast to move over the Northem Leeward Islands.


The National Emergency Managem ent Organisation (NEMO) urges all residents living near ivers and

streams especially persons living in areas such as Fitz-Hughes. Chateaubelair, Spring Village. Vermont,

Buccament, Rose Place, Calliaqua, Belair, Dauphine, Amos Vale, Mami aqua, Lowmans, Greggs, South

Rivers, Dickson, Langley Park, Sandy Bay, Owia and Fancy to be vigilant.


Residents and motorist in low lying areas and areas prone to flooding and landslide are also asked to be

vigilant and exercise caution. The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) will continue to monitor and provide updates as necessary.
