ONE NEW COVID-19 CASE FROM AA 945 AUGUST 1
St. Vincent and the Grenadines today confimed one (1) new COVID-19 case. This case arrived
on American Airlines (AA) 945 flight on August 1, 2020 and the individual has been isolated since
reccipt of their preliminary positive result. The Vincentian national is doing well and has no
symptoms typical of coronavirus.
All of the other one hundred and two (102) AA 945 passengers who arived from Miami on Saturday August 1, 2020, are in mandatory quarantine, and will be tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus between day four (4) and five (5) of quarantine.
The two Vincentians who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 after arrival on AA 945 on July 25, were initially isolated in the Argyle Isolation Facility (AIF) to ensure that they comply with their Isolation. Both patients were not ill on admission, and continue to be asymptomatic COVID-19 cases. One person has been released from the AIF to continue isolation in their isolation approved home. The other individual remains at the facility.
One COVID-19 case recovered as indicated by two negative results of RT-PCR tests. St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded a total of fifty-six (56) COVID-19 cases, forty-six (46) of which have recovered. There are now ten (10) active COVID-19 cases.
The public is urged to continue to work with the health and security services to keep St. Vincent
and the Cirenadines healthy. This can be achieved, once everyone adheres to all quarantine and
SOlation orders.
