What can we expect....

Today: The tropical wave along 60W at 0600UTC will maintain light to moderate showers across Barbados and the island chain. As the day progresses, Tropical Depression Thirteen will be approaching the island chain. Further north, instability ahead of this system will begin to affect the Leewards towards nightfall.

Friday: Tropical Depression Thirteen will begin affecting the eastern Caribbean. As the most intense activity is forecast over the Leewards, generally cloudy to overcast skies with moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected there. Meanwhile, across Barbados and the Windwards, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast. Toward nightfall, speed convergence will result in further amplified instability across the Windwards. Hence the likelihood of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will be higher throughout the night.

. A tropical wave over western Africa is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This wave is expected to move over the far eastern tropical Atlantic on Friday, and some slow development is possible through the weekend while it moves west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern tropical Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.
