Tropical Wave expected to affect T&T as Trough System Begins to Affect SVG on Thursday


The tropical wave presently analyzed along 50W is expected to begin affecting Trinidad and Tobago as the day progresses. Meanwhile a low level trough axis will lead to some instability ahead of the wave axis. This instability is expected to generate some scattered showers and occasional cloudiness across Barbados and the remainder of the island chain. Overnight, the aforementioned tropical wave is expected to spread showers and possible thunderstorms across the extreme southern Windward islands. The upper divergent pattern across the island chain, may facilitate such activity.



Friday: The tropical wave is expected to continue affecting the southern Windward islands generating showers and possible thunderstorm activity. Barbados is expected to be on the northern extent of this activity, nevertheless the possibility for scattered showers remains. Over the northern portions of the region, the Atlantic high pressure system will remain the dominant feature.
