Eastern Caribbean Outlook

Today: The surface to low level shearline will continue to affect the southern Leeward and northern Windward islands, generating cloudy skies and scattered showers. The upper divergent pattern may enhance isolated convection. Elsewhere across the region, the Atlantic high pressure system will be the dominant feature. Occasional cloudiness with brief, light isolated shower activity is likely.

Thursday: The tropical wave presently analyzed along 50W is expected to begin affecting Trinidad and Tobago as the day progresses. Meanwhile a low level trough axis will lead to some instability ahead of the wave axis. This instability is expected to generate some scattered showers and occasional cloudiness across Barbados and the remainder of the island chain. Overnight, the aforementioned tropical wave is expected to spread showers and possible thunderstorms across the extreme southern Windward islands. The upper divergent pattern across the island chain, may facilitate such activity.
